How the lawn care invoice works

Per visit = the sum of the ticked services. This period = per visit × visits in the billing period, listed as one line per service. Materials and haul-away are added as flat lines. Season at this pace = this period × the months in the season. Total = services + materials + haul-away + tax on the materials.

Common questions

How do lawn care companies bill customers?

Most bill per visit during the season, or send one monthly invoice that adds up the visits. Some offer a flat monthly price for the season. This page bills by visits and shows the season total.

What should a landscaping invoice include?

The property address, the dates or period, each service with its price, materials such as mulch or plants, haul-away, tax if it applies, the total and how to pay.

How do I bill mulch, soil or plants?

As a material, separate from labor, so the customer can see what was bought. Enter the amount in the materials box, and set the tax rate below if materials are taxed where you work.

Can I invoice a flat monthly price instead?

Yes. Tick one service, set its price to the monthly amount and enter one visit. The invoice then shows one line per month.

How do I invoice a one-off cleanup?

Use Add a service for the job, enter the price, and set visits to 1. Add haul-away if you took the waste away.

When should I send a lawn care invoice?

At the end of each month for the visits done, or after each visit for customers who pay as they go. The page starts with Net 15 terms. Change it to suit your customers.
